Let's be Constructive...

The other day I stumbled upon a animated TV show proposal for Children's programming, made by some Dubaian studio. I found this following statement on the proposal. I split my sides laughing...here it is:

" Our children are the future, let's be selective and make sure that they are consistently exposed to the right messages to help them grow into positive, balanced, compassionate and responsible adults.
Join us and say NO... to violence, terrorism, racism, sex, drugs, black magic and other destructive ideas!"

Okay.
You don't want to expose kids to sex then fine, don't...but a destructive idea? Surely you are being harsh. What part of it is destructive...the procreation, the pleasure...oh no, how stupid of me..its obviously because sex is vulgar and a breeding ground for disease and unwanted children...how destructive indeed, we don't need sex!

Look, now I'm being harsh...sex can actually be very destructive...i'll propose a few examples.

1) Sex with a direct family member - just imagine how awkward those family lunches will be, why destroy such a wonderful thing?
2) Sex with your neighbor's dog - How can you look your neighbor in the eye anymore, you'll always have to look through the peephole before u scurry to the elevator hoping not to bump into your neighbor, or worse yet..his/her dog. Why put yourself through all that trouble?
3) Sex in radioactive waste - In all fairness, its the radioactive waste that is a problem here.

So I can see their point, sex is a destructive idea that will yield imbalanced adults that will most probably lack compassion. That said, don't even get me started on black magic, hasn't that caused enough trouble already?

On Vitality (in the third)

Hosni realizes it has been ages since he last posted, so acting on impulse he decides to post. However, staring at the screen, he is at a loss for words, a loss for ideas and all that jazz. The fact of the matter is that Hosni has lacked vitality for some time now, and with diminished vitality comes a dearth of ideas and visionettes (custom-made English translation of the word 'nazariyyet').
Current events? Nothing...Pointless observations? Nothing... Religion-bashing (an all-time favorite of his)? Nothing
Nothing at all...
No vitality, no posts.

Mall Mauling (A Thing of the Past)

Yesterday I spent 7 hours in a mall.
I did do a bit of 'shopping' but that was a 20-30 minute affair...tops
I spent 7 hours in a mall, indulged in my own portable music selections and just walking around.
I tried to pretend that I was wandering about in a city, a city with impeccable weather I may add. A little exercise in suspension of disbelief...though I can't claim that it worked, it was enjoyable nonetheless, mildly enjoyable perhaps. I observed people, saw a few familiar faces and passed out a salutation or two.
For the longest time I loathed malls, however I always succumbed to the fact that there was little else to do and reluctantly found myself standing inside these mammoth structures wearing a sedated frown. Yesterday though it dawned on me, the best way about it is to live and work in a mall...preferbly a obscenely large one. Since as how all these malls are pretty much self-sufficient, there would be no reason to leave - a city within a city. One that is pedestrian friendly...I can live with that.

"Faulty Construction"

Finally..a ceasefire

Though I must say, this latest UN fortune cookie has everyone on edge.
Almost everyone I've asked seems to think that the south will be seeing action for sometime still.

This morning someone shared a YouTube video with me...
What utter stupidity! I can't believe anyone can have the audacity to make such a retarded claim. This only endorses the stereotype that the American masses bath in ignorance. If anyone is in the mood for aggravation then hit the link, otherwise steer clear.

Dear Steven

Look, I have forgiven you for ruining Philip K. Dick's story and for all your horrible film endings.
I enjoyed your dinosaurs, aliens and sharks. Believe it or not, I even enjoyed Schindler's List.

But your latest donation...
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for relief funds, but you've gotten involved now...
I can no longer justify watching the 'Hollywood diarrhea' known as your films,
I think I'll be on the look-out for a prominent Venezuelan filmmaker to replace you.

Coincidence?

All the Israeli attacks... its the 80s all over again
so it's Depeche Mode today

Get this -
1982: Italy wins the World Cup, Israel invades, Oji is born
2006: Italy wins the World Cup, Israel invades, Oji is bored
Uncanny

'Violator' is 1990, no?
Doesn't matter.

Morning Digression

Got in at 10:30...I had good intentions, I left earlier than usual but my cab got lost...go figure.
I watched some news before I left, always the same...The words "Lebanon" and "pounding" used in close proximity.
Why won't they leave us alone? (Rhetoric alert!)

I've decided that today is Sufjan Steven's 'Seven Swans' day... for no particular reason...
I like the track "Sister" (I believe its called). I have officially shortlisted it as 'soundtrack' material for a potential film.

No ideas today- not yet atleast...perhaps its still too early.
Lotta work to evade today, indolence heated at summer's 50 Celsius and left to simmer yields a near corpse-like state.

The Peacekeeping Ninja

Got in at 10:37 today...
A couple of nights ago, I thought of a plan...to solve the 'mid-east crisis' (or so they call it)...bare with me...
A ninja capable of travelling at high speeds and wears a mask (a sexy one), with the wrath of his/her blades the ninja will slap the oppressers into submission...protecting the innocent...The peacekeeping ninja is basically what the UN should be...

Now, all i need is for such a ninja to surface and I'll have the CIA, Mossad..u name it knocking on my door, red dots of light swarming across my head. But that won't happen...mainly because the oblivion harbors all ideas, from the insensitive to the immature.

Will they ever stop bombing us...peacekeeping ninja, where are you?

Cutting the Ribbon

At the office, at my workstation...
Hardly a workstation, i have a couple of post its to my right, a half-empty (yes, half-empty) bottle of water to my left - pens scattered around (pens is an exaggeration...its more like pen). Not the most colorful of inaugurations, but welcome to the oblivion nonetheless.
